Shadowscapes Tarot

SIX of WANDS

He stands upon the stone lion, symbol of kings and emperors, and proclaims his ascendancy with a triumphant declaration. Even the lion bows his head and closes his jaws to this victor. It lies quiescent and submissive.

He bears his wand like a scepter and raises aloft the laurel crown. He knows his star is rising, and he dares any to challenge him. He has seen many challengers come and go - brave knights and foolish knights. The clever ones who thought to outwit him, the famed ones with their followers, and those who were full of bravado but little skill. None have yet been able to best him.

He is confident in his own strength and abilities, prideful and arrogant, certain that there is no one equal to his might. And yet, he reached this position by fighting through the masses and distinguishing himself - perhaps the one challenger who will beat him eventually is still waiting in the wings for his own time, waiting for the right moment to strike to take down this overly confident king.

The Six of Wands symbolizes victory and triumph. One has prevailed and overcome many obstacles to come out on top. But you must beware falling prey to hubris and lassitude that uncontested victory may bring, and not become lost in self-importance.
